It’s 2020 and it looks like its a Quarantine Year already 😷😨.. all because of COVID 19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) caused by Corona Virus- A close cousin of SARS virus. The symptoms are similar to flu, the infected person has fever, cough, cold, mild to severe respiratory symptoms. Although it seems quite bad, the Human body is super amazing and surely we are much stronger and resilient than any viruses and bacterias, even the Corona Virus… People at most risk are the elderly, very young and the immunocompromised people. For sure, we all should take little more care of their health and stop the viral transmission chain by maintaining social distancing.
Here are 5 steps you can take to be safe and healthy especially when there is already so much havoc around the globe :
1: Don’t Panic and Stay at home – Panic is the last thing we need right now, Panic not only weakens our immune system but also will release stress hormones like cortisol in our body hence prolonging the cellular repair and recovery time. So, instead of Panicking, start preparing yourself mentally and physically to become an even happier and stronger version of yourself. Most importantly stay at home within your social bubble!
2: HYGIENE – Although the Sanitiser industry is having a real blossom time right now, in reality, the regular Handwash is the trick we need at this time. After you come back home, Before the meals, After using the toilets and even after the meetings, the first thing you need to do is a nice and thorough Handwash and drying hands with a clean towel.
3: DIET: I’m sharing top 5 foods that are amazing to fight any kind of Viruses :
Vit C – Kiwis, Bell peppers, Lemons, Strawberries, Broccoli, Papayas and guavas are some of the best Vit C foods.Probiotics – Gut bacterias are proven to increase the overall immunity of our body to fight against the nasty bugs, try getting the Live gut bacterial probiotics if possible especially for kids.Adults can gulp in fresh yogurt, kefir or probiotics as well.Elderberry – Yes its been proven that Sambucol(Black elderberry extract) was shown to be effective in vitro against 10 strains of influenza virus.Sambucol is easily available now at most health stores.Vitamins – I would recommend going for fresh veggies and fruits to increase the intake of Vitamins and minerals rather than dozing your children and yourself with the bottled vitamins unless your doctor has specifically advised you to do so.Tea – When I mention Tea, I mean is increasing the intake of Ginger /Turmeric tea and limiting the intake of regular black tea or coffee. 5: SLEEP – Sleep helps our body and mind to recover from a full day’s rush and exertion, An average person sleeps for a third of his lifetime.. this is how nature has made it and we should respect that. Sleep is a vital need of our body just like food to maintain our physical and mental health.
